Your Destination for Travel Inspiration, Education and Innovation
We are passionate about Global Exploration and hope our experiences and perspectives can help exemplify why we think travel experiences are essential life experiences.
The US is the only advanced country without a national paid vacation policy and for those who get paid vacation, the majority leave days unused and US employees work more average hours vs. other countries. The lack of a mandate indicates American culture does not view vacation as essential, even as research signals the importance of taking time off and the detriments of persistent overwork. Americans still see vacation as a luxury or privilege for higher-paid workers vs. a right and necessity for all workers.
The good news is Americans love the idea of vacation and are increasingly seeing travel as integral to life. Experiences provide more and longer lasting happiness while connecting us to others in more satisfying ways. With successive generations viewing travel and healthy work-life integration as essential, coupled with overwhelming support from scientific, academic, industry and anecdotal research, now is the time to expand the promotion of travel experiences.
We advocate for Americans to reevaluate our lifestyles of persistent overwork and purposefully integrate travel and experiences to enhance our personal and professional lives. Our mission is to be: Your Destination for Travel Inspiration, Education and Innovation.
Inspiration. Through storytelling and commentary, we hope to inspire everyone to travel and experience more. Whether you are a Gen Z or Baby Boomer traveler and prefer staycations, far-off destinations or family trips, travel is becoming easier and more accessible. Check out where we have been, some destinations in focus and some of our favorite collections of suggestions to inspire your next experience. Remember life is finite but work is infinite so take a break, experience more and share your stories.
Education. As Americans indicate a desire to experience more, we need to stay informed on the personal, professional and societal benefits of actually taking time off. Our country benefits from travel and vacation promotion – e.g. Government sees economic output and job creation, Businesses see productivity and retention while Ordinary Americans see improved health & wellness, professional growth and personal happiness. The more we educate about this importance, the better chance we have of living more integrated lives.
Innovation. Travel is an exciting industry going through accelerating change - from the proliferation of alternative accommodations and lifestyle brands to transformative mergers and evolving loyalty platforms, to name just a few. Much of this change is democratizing travel and encouraging people to embrace using personal time to prioritize leisure. As travel brands, industry groups, research organizations and non-profit associations spotlight travel innovation, we will try to make sense of it and discuss broader implications.
